A while ago I posted a bunch of shoes that were the product of a collaboration between Animal Collective and the clothing company Keep.  Along with ordering the shoes the band promised to release a tape of material that each of the member had never released.  The video above is a new teaser for the Mixtape and features the song ‘Fickle Cycle’ from the bands Grass EP.  Although I wasn’t exactly impressed by any of the shoes offered the Mixtape is pretty enticing, not to mention that all proceeds go to the Socorro Island Conservation Fund.  Check out the tracklisting and cover art after the jump.

Rapping about sneakers is cliche as hell, but something about this song gets me.  This song brings me back to my days when I would check sneaker blogs as much, if not more, than music blogs.  I’m not as into sneakers anymore, but I can still tell that Jay Wise knows his shit.  You can search for original, experimental, and trendy music as much as you want, but there’s still nothing like a song that makes you reminisce.  Shoutout to Jake.

The four week long reveal of the Animal Collective Keep Shoe Line is finally complete.  We have already posted Avey’s, Deakin’s and Geologists’ shoe designs and Panda’s is finishing off the set.  Panda decided to create the Camo Ramos, sharing the design of Geologist’ Ramos (which are now going to be released in Adult Sizes) and using a custom camo print.  An order of these shoes will come with a pair of black laces along with a cassette of unreleased Animal Collective material.  Now that all the designs have been released I must say that Geologists’ design, which premiered as exclusively for children, are my favorite.  Over all the series of sneakers are diverse enough to appeal to many different people and I am sure everyone will find one that they like.  Order the shoes here and check out more pictures after the jump.

I already, reported that Animal Collective has teamed up with Keep to release four different shoes in support of the Soccoro Island Conservation Fund, and showed pictures of the Avey designed Tobins.  Deakin designed the pair of high-tops above which feature a cool aquatic theme and are called the Guerra.  Deakin says he was inspired by scuba diving and the “awe of the ocean world.”  Geologist decided to go another route designing a pair of children’s shoes called the Ramos.

Like Deakin’s the shoes have an aquatic design that will appeal to many people kids, really hip and cool kids.  This designs are pretty cool and excite me for what Panda Bear has in store.  Considering the unpredictability of the band they could be anything.  Check out the pre-order the shoes here and check out more photos after the jump.

Animal Collective has teamed up with Keep, to design shoes.  Now before you start raging about Animal Collective selling out, they are donating all the profit to the Socorro Island Conservation Fund.  Only one design has been released but there will be four on sale.  The ones featured above are Avey’s design called Tobins.  The ghost illustrations are down by Avey and are definitely for fans of the band.  They won’t release till next March but you can preorder them here.  Find more photos of the shoe after the jump.

There seems to be two trends with Indie Bands lately.  NSFW Videos and making their own shoes.   The Pixies are the latest band to come out with their own shoe.  They are made by vans and are available in slip-on and high top styles.  Get your Pixies shoes here.
