The Up-Turn

A little while back 2010’s Brooklyn buzz band, Cults, announced that they were planning on releasing a rap mixtape.  This is the first track off of said mixtape, and shows only good signs.  Cults made the wise decision of enlisting every hipster’s favorite completely non-hipster rapper, Freddie Gibbs, to lace “Bad Things” off of their recent self-titled album.  As always, Gibbs’ verses are extremely intricate and perfectly enmesh with Cults’ dark but swingy backdrop.  No word on when this mixtape is going to be released yet, but if you want to hear more Freddie Gibbs, download his newest mixtape Cold Day In Hell HERE.
