I only recently discovered D.C. band Dismemberment Plan’s amazing 90s album Emergency and I and luckily the band has just launched a reunion tour along with a rerelease of the album.  To kick start their tour, Dismemberment Plan played two tracks for Jimmy Fallon and despite the 10+ years since the albums original release the band is still undoubtedly master’s of their craft.  Singer Travis Morrison has amazing charisma and a great knack for stage presence with his unwavering and cool command over the mike.  Even Questlove couldn’t help but fall in love with the band’s performance as he later raved about them in a tweet.

The songs that they chose to play are also among my favorites on the album with the emotional track The City and the endlessly anthemic What Would You Want Me to Say?  Watching these great performances only makes me further appreciate the band and the strength of their songwriting and instrumentalists.  For anyone who hasn’t heard of the band before definitely check out Emergency and I.
