Here’s the video for Lupe’s song off of his upcoming album Lasers which is supposedly dropping next month.  This song dropped a few months ago, but it was a slightly different version, I guess this is the final/mastered version.

…And thus my bad day turns great.  I have been really anticipating this mixtape, and I had no idea it was going to drop so soon.  If you’re getting tired of conventional rap formatted songs, this is definitely something you should check out.  London is the type of artist who is constantly trying to be as original as possible and is always creating something fresh and new.  Whether he is rapping, or crooning like a soul singer, I’m always excited to see some new Theophilus London.

This weeks download is easily the best garage rock song of 2009.  The late Jay Reatard created his most immediate and rewarding song with It Ain’t Gonna Save Me.  Although he has passed away, he went out after creating his swan song.  Download below.

Label mates Holy Ghost! have recently released a remix of LCD Sounsystem’s Drunk Girls.  The remix is a fresh approach to the already fun song and is worth a listen.  Head over to the bands website here to download for the price of your email.

The Charles Hamilton tracks just keep coming.  Here is another new song from Hamilton over once again an extremely unconventional beat.  I’m not liking this as much as Press C, but it still has me excited for his upcoming single.

I’ve been waiting for this for a while.  The first Roc Nation signee drops the first single off of his debut album.  J. Cole is an extremely talented guy who produces all of his own beats (with the help of Elite on this one), and he is going to do some big things in the future.  To introduce himself to the music industry, J. Cole chose to use a southern marching band style beat, and laces it with his flow that never stops getting better.

Pac Div have been steadily making some great music for the past few years with their Church League Champions mixtape, but still they have yet to blow.  With the release of their highly anticipated Don’t Mention It mixtape, there is a good chance their big break is about to come, so do yourself a favor and download this.

Here is the newest leak off of Theophilus London’s upcoming mixtape I Want You.  I am really starting to like this guy. He’s extremely original, creative, and seems to have a completely different feel and energy in each track he does.  In one track like Life of a Lover he reminds me of the slow, smooth, tracks I love Blu for, and on another track like Don’t Be Afraid, he manages to create a great track without even rapping over a high energy, South African-like beat.  Definitely watch out for I Want You dropping right before the summer season.

All of Nardwuar’s interviews are really great and original interviews.  Nard really puts the time into getting to know the people he is interviewing before the interview which makes for a fun and interesting video.  Something about this interview though is really great.  Every time “Apple” starts to talk into the microphone, Nard turns it away from his face.  Whether or not this is intention it makes for some great moments.  Read the full article to see Nardwuar interview Matisyahu.

Kool A.D. of Das Racist just put together a guest blog for XXL which bears an uncanny resemblance to that of terribly untalented rapper OJ Da Juice Mane.  I’m not one to encourage or try to keep up to date on beef between rappers, but Das Racist V OJ Da Juice Mane… shyt, I’m all for it.
