There’s nothing I enjoy more than finding an artist who has a bunch of work out, and loving it all as soon as I hear it.  I guess El Guincho kind of slipped by me, and I don’t know how because he is amazing.  He is from the Spanish Canary Islands, and his work reminds me of a Latin version of pre-Strawberry Jam Animal Collective.  His sound combines the genres of Trapicalia, Afro-beat, post-rock and a touch of dub-step to make something unique and fantastic.  I strongly suggest that you listen to either of his albums Alegranza! or Folías.

All joking aside, Fleet Foxes are are absolutely amazing band.  This performance shot in France highlights that their singing and playing skills go beyond studio recordings.  This still gives me chills everytime I watch it!

Here is a great video of a look inside the recording of Yeasayer’s new album Odd Blood.

For my 5th birthday my dad bought me a cassette tape of The Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense concert.  It was more of an excuse to get it for himself, but I listened to it, and ever since then I have loved music.  I just finished midterms at school, so I’ve had a lot of time to do nothing, so I went on a Talking Heads video binge, and after watching this performance I had to post it.  This video is 26 years old this year, but it is my favorite song by possibly my favorite band, so here you go.  And I think Stop Making Sense came out on blueray in one of the recent months so I guess this is current in way.

UPDATE: Thanks to related videos on Youtube, I just found a video of MGMT playing this at their 3rd show ever, so read the rest of this post to see that.

Here’s the new video for the Broken Bells’ (James Mercer of The Shins and Danger Mouse of Gnarls Barkley) first single The High Road.  I really like the song, and I’m starting to really like the video.  Remember to pick up the album on March 9th.
